Yesterday i attended a seminar by one the most prominent figure of our country. He is the chief artitect of UIDIA project. let me take the opportunity to introduce him. He is co-founder of one the most sucessfull software company of the country. He is Nandan nilekani. Before writing my analysis of the session, i would take some writing about his lifetime. He was born in bangalore and he does his schooling from there. He was good in studies. Thats why finally, he was selected for IIT mumbai. He does his B-Tech from electrical engineering stream.In 1981, he along with Narayan murthy and five other co-founders founded Infosys.He holds various responsibilities in the company. Today, Infosys has an employee strength of 58,000, annual revenue of $2 billion and $21 billion capitalization. Now i am sharing the details of the seminar. This project is offered by govt. of the country to provide an unique identification code to every citizen of the country. This code used as authentication of particular person. thier are many benefits attached to this project. our record of every citizen become synchronised. It become easier for authorities to acess it real time. Imagine the numbers of benefits, if this really become happen. lets see some of the benefits which i analysis after the session.
1. It will create a huge database of records of every citizen of the country, which helps in integration of record with every department of the govt. These datsbase will be stored on the clouds. so data can be acessed on real time. its usase will be similar to the O.S.N. sites, anybody can acess it for identification anytime.
2. These database is used by every govt department of the country. so no separate records for each department is required to maintained. now imagine the countless time and man power being saved because of it. It will reduce the time of processing, simultaneously reduce red tapism, and corruption (babus deliberate delay). Conclusively making individual more accountable.
3.The govt will use this code for P.D.S ( public distribution system). hence reduce the on path stealing. so the govt allocation will completely reaches to the beneficiaries.
4. Govt spent huge money in his flagship programme for ruler empowerment. but still all this benefit doesnot reach the the target prople timely. this U.I.D will ensure the disbursement of govt into right people. in U.I.D nobody can manipulate diverse the funds. this project ensure that nobody will get double ID or virtual (fake ID). only genuine ID will be generated.
5. voting could be done by phone using biometric sensor. so fake voting, booth capturing, all these kind of malpractices will be eliminated. Their are lots of benefits of this projects. But their are various complications to this project. The database needs to be protected from hackers. few month ago chinese govt attacked on Googles server to acess the human right activitist site. their is a possibility that, they attack on our database to destroy( as it carries many benefits to us). so the database must have to be protected from all such possibilities.
Nowadays the online computing is dissimilating even in rular areas of the country. so, their is a possibility that people willnot face much difficulities while upgrading such projects. Hope well will happen. Kudus to the mr. nilekani for initiating such a innovating projects in our country. As a true compatroit of this country, i pray for the success of this project.
