Kashmir embroil into violent protest by Kashmiri youth.

Kashmir issue is undoubtedly one of most contentious yet unresolved issue our country have faced since independence. Why after such a long time we doesn't available to resolve that issue. Is it so much tricky? Whats the core problem? Why it is taking so much time? I will discuss this issue in length in this blog. These days i have read a lot of stuff about ongoing protest by Kashmiri youth against Indian union demanding freedom from main land India. Lets break this in parts to understand the issue comprehensively. Opinion expressed is my personal view, your viewpoint may differs.
kashmir is a Muslim dominated region. Since the time of independence Pakisthan govt. have claimed over the region and made it a contentious issue. Though their is no written document supporting Pakisthan's claims over region. Kashmir remains with India. At the time of independence the valley was ruled by the hindu ruler Hari Singh. In 1948 Pakisthani army attacked the region. Ruler find it difficult to defend it's borders. He then approach to Indian ministers to save himself from Pakisthani attack. Indian politician put forward a proposal in front of the ruler to accede kashmir with India, only then he will be offered support from the country. He finalized the deal with India. India in response sent his army to draw the Pak army out from the valley. In this way kashmir became the integral part of the country. Ever since Pakistan have developed extreme sourness towards our country. Many terrorist group flourished cross the border to take revenge from India.
One of the biggest mistakes our politician committed at that time was to take the kashmir border disputes to the UN. Had India not went to UN for resolving the issue, it would have not become such complex problem today.
Why kashmiris are demanding freedom from the Indian union?
Kashmiris have persistently seen the violence in the valley since independence. The separatist leaders have long tried to prod people against India. On the other hand terrorist groups have continuously sent militants to prevail terror in the region. Indian forces are deployed to deter any possible threats arising from across the border. Large part of army is stationed in the valley to fight terrorism in the region. Pak have regularly sent terrorist to destabilize India. Some separatist leader constantly got support from cross the border to spur violence in the valley. They always prod people against Indian army operations in the valley. Some residents started giving refuge to these militants. Though such resident are less in number, thus invites stiff actions from security personnel. To tackle the growing violence in the region, Indian policymakers have given special rights(ASFSA) to the security forces. This causes huge resentment to the kashmiri people. Radical forces in the valley claimed that security personnels are misusing the powers and threatened the local people. I THINK THIS THE MAIN REASON WHICH TURNED KASHMIRIS AGAINST INDIAN UNION.
Everytime people have protested against India, each time Indian politician have dealt with them forcibly. This have widened trust deficit in them. This also strengthen the separatist view point that Kashmiris are not cared by Indians. Such hardened approaches causes dearly by turning local people against the country.
This time the violence broke out after the death of a local resident by security forces. Afterward youths have intensified the protest by pelting stone to the security personnels. To control the situation in the valley, security forces have dealt them forcibly. The situation worsened in the valley and large number of people joining the protest. Leveraging the development in the valley separatist leaders have not left a single chance to utter fire against India. Govt have deployed more security personnel to tackle the violent situation. The clash is ongoing and more than 50 people have lost life in the hands of security forces. They are demanding freedom from the Indian union.
This time the protest is much intense and large number of people are joining the protest rallies. This is a bad signal for the country. We always boasted about our resilient democratic set up, but how are we tackling the protests in the valley? We are crushing the people's voice by using forces. I think policymakers has to review this policy. This issue demands urgent redress by the govt. otherwise situation became out of control from the country. We need to win the heart of local residents and make him realize that they are important part of our country. In my view their is no other solution lies than to minimize this trust deficit problem in the minds of the local residents.
Hope the govt would take necessary steps to resolve this issue. The valley will soon calm down.
